Octisalate (octyl salicylate) is an oil-soluble organic UVB filter used at up to 5% to absorb UVB radiation, here dispersed in isododecane, a volatile lightweight emollient solvent that aids spreadability and quick-drying finish. It also helps stabilize and solubilize other sunscreen actives in the formulation.
