Methodology
We analysed the printed INCI ingredient lists of 3,375 skincare products sold on major Indian marketplaces. Each ingredient was canonicalised and cross-referenced against structured dermatology reference data: Malassezia (fungal-acne) substrate lists, published comedogenicity ratings, the EU's declared-allergen list, alcohol classification, and pregnancy-caution guidance. A product is counted once per category if it contains at least one flagged ingredient. Flags describe ingredients, not product performance — this is not a safety ranking of any brand or product.
